Mijas / Mijas Costa

There is something special about relaxing in a traditional Spanish village. The white washed houses, stone-lined streets and Arab courtyards create an adventurous mood. The mountain village of Malaga province has a special place in many hearts: it is of course Mijas Pueblo.

In addition to the architectural wonders that la Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña and the colourful donkey taxis, Mijas offers spectacular views of the Costa del Sol.

Mijas is one of the characteristic white villages for which Andalusia is famous for. The village is located in the Malaga province, about 30 km from Malaga city. As you approach the city by the main road, you can already spot the white dots in the countryside. As you get closer you can see the strong blue and red colours from the many pot plants that adorn the walls of the city. In 1969, the city was named a historic monument with clear examples of Arab history and architecture that characterize most of Andalusian cities to a greater or lesser extent. Mijas Costa has charming towns, landscapes and beaches located halfway between Malaga to the east and Marbella to the west. A large percentage of residents are foreigners. Down the coast you will find good beaches, sports activities, lots of golf courses, riding schools, water parks and many private residential areas.
